Explanation

In this Vachanāmrut, Surā khāchar says that when a devotee of God is born in a household, Seventy-one generations of that household attain salvation. But, many in that family may even be enemies of Bhagvãn and His saints. In what way do they attain salvation? Shreeji Māharāj responds by saying that those people will not attain salvation. Only those who have love for the devotee will attain salvation. The Family, which consists of a bhakta of Bhagvãn, attains kalyãn. But, many in that family may even be enemies of Bhagvãn and His saints. In what way do they attain kalyãn?

Māharāj gives the examples of Dēvahuti who lovingly serves her husband Kardam Rishi and King Mãndhãtã’s fifty daughters who are married to Saubharī Rishi after falling for his looks. Therefore, the family of a person in whose clan a devotee is born believes that it is our great fortune that a devotee of God is born in our family.  If one keeps such intention then salvation of the entire family will also be achieved.  If the parents or grandparents etc. being in heaven, if they think this way then they will surely achieve salvation. But if one has the mind of enmity, then one will not achieve salvation even if one is a father, mother or a brother.  His intellect gets corrupted and finally falls into hell.  Therefore, whoever has love, whether it might be a devotee of God or relative who is devotee of God they will achieve salvation.

Here, Nãjã Bhakta asks: “There is one devotee who has firm faith in God and another who has medium faith in God, however they both appear to be the same. How can one identify one from the other?” Here, Māharāj says that “when self-esteem, renunciation, righteousness (Dharma) and devotion (Bhakti) if this four are firm then it can be known as having complete nishay (faith) and as werker this four are such weaker if faith.
