24. You Are What You Decide

Maharaj said that anyone could overcome the roots of Lust and Anger only if he has the understanding like King Janak.

Why did not Maharaj take the name of Lord Shiva or Lord Brahma. Whose knowledge is complete. King Janak’s knowledge? or Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva, Parasar’s knowledge is complete?

King Janak is relatively recent devotee than Lord Brahma or Lord Shiva. Among all Vaishnava Devotees, Lord Shiva is considered best and first. Who was able to completely remove the roots of Lust and Anger? King Janak. Not Lord Shiva? Why is that?

It doesn’t depend if we are new devotees or old devotees. If we don’t decide, even hundred births would not be sufficient. If we decide, one birth is more than enough.

Decision is completely in our hands.

King Janak decided that he should never let Lust and Anger to control him. Brahma, Shivji were older devotees. They did not decide to control lust and anger, and so they faced the trouble.

Dada Kachar decided that whatever Maharaj performs is divine. Maharaj said in Vachanamrut that such devotees will not fall even if God Himself says that His actions are human.

On the path of God, we must decide what type of devotee we want to be? Who is our role model? Parikshit Maharaj, Garudji, Hanumanji, Dada Kachar, Muktanand Swami, or King Janak? Decision is a very important act of a devotee.

If we don’t decide on what type of devotee we want to be, there is no guarantee on what type of devotee we would end up.

If you don’t decide where you want to go and sit in your car, and drive it, you may reach where you may not wish to be.

Only people with a resolution become devotees of God. Garudji did not decide, and so he doubted God’s ability. He thought that he understood God completely by being with God all the time.

Uddhavji decided that He would never doubt Krishna. When Krishna went to Kubja’s house at night, He took Uddhavji along with Him.

Krishna told Uddhav, “Kakaji, you wait at the door and make sure that no one comes inside,” while Krishna stayed inside with Kubja.

Uddhavji did what Krishna told him and never doubted Krishna.

If your decision is strong enough, even when doubt arises, it gets suppressed by your decision.
