29. Can We Achieve Ultimate Good Before Death?

Yes. We can achieve ultimate good before our death by having extreme attachment to God and single-minded Saints. The attachment should be so strong that the time factor should not be able to destroy it.

Gopis had ultimate attachment to Lord Krishna, and it brought them their ultimate good. Gopis got the opportunity to get in touch with Lord Krishna in person. Mirabai had no opportunity to get in touch with Krishna in person. Yet, she achieved her ultimate good before her death.

When Mirabai was six-seven years old, there was a marriage season in her village where lot of marriages happened together with huge gatherings and festivities.

Mirabai asked her mother, “Mother, what is happening here?”

Mother explained the process of marriage that one gal, and one guy would get married, and they live happily ever after.

Mirabai asked, “Mother, who is the guy for me?”

To amuse Mirabai, her Mother said, “There he is, smiling at you,” showing the Murti of Krishna in their home.

Mirabai caught that moment and got so much attached to Krishna. She then decided, “I don’t need anyone else other than Krishna.”

She got so attached to Krishna that time-factor was unable to disturb her relationship with Krishna.

Maharaj called that stage of soul as ‘Parampad’ or ‘Sidhdh-dasha’. At that stage, no one could break your attachment with God. Prahladji had so much attachment to God that even his mighty father couldn’t break it.

We should do whatever we could to be attached to God and single-minded Saints before our last breath. After last breath nothing could be done, and it would be as it is now. After last breath, nothing else would be pending other than going through our deed-accounts.

Maharaj says that God is our lawyer when we are living, and becomes Judge when we are dead.

What is the work of Lawyer? He could protect you even if you are wrong provided you paid him well enough.

What is the work of Judge? He decides whether you should be punished or let free based on your actual deeds.

So whatever work one wants to do like achieving the state of Mukt / Sidhdh should be done before last breath.

What is the state of Sidhdh? The ultimate attachment to God and single-minded Saints that couldn’t be disturbed by time or destruction.
